The test frame was pivot-mounted on a ground pad for principle studies regarding thrust requirements and controllability.
Test drive with balsa propeller
Test frame equipped with Graupner Speed 700 9.6V direct drive and 11x0.5inch custom-made balsa propeller from Fa. Kraut, Aachen, Germany. Maximum thrust was 1190g at 11.4V and 29A corresponding to 3.6g/W thrust/power ratio.
